Acne damaged skin

When people talk about acne damaged skin or get acne they immediately go out to find an acne skin care product to treat their acne. Unfortunately some acne skin care products can actually damage your skin more with continued long term use. It is best to take steps to try and avoid acne rather than just treat it with skin care products when it appears.

I'm sure you've heard the phrase 'prevention is the best medicine’; well this phrase is true for acne. Why just treat the symptoms if you can prevent it from happening altogether. The first step is to identify what is causing your pimples.

If you can't find the cause of your acne damaged skin then you will want to find a good acne skin care product to help with the symptoms. Firstly, make sure you have a good skin care routine. Cleanse, tone and moisturise your skin daily and if you wear makeup make sure that you cleanse your face at night to wash the makeup off. Acne is caused by pores becoming clogged and blocked and makeup that isn't removed can be a big cause. Try using oil free skin care products as oily skin is more prone to acne.

Even though you don't want excessive oily skin so it is good to use oil free skin care products, your skin does need some oil so it doesn't become overly dry and sensitive. Some cleansers actually strip the skin of their natural oils so you don't want one of these either. You can get some good oil free skin care products that still keep the natural oils in your skin.

As well as looking for good skin care products to treat your acne you should also look at your diet. Eating a healthy diet will go a long way to getting rid of acne. Eating a good variety of fruit and vegetables will do wonders for your skin. Remember the old saying 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away’; well it can also help with acne. Eating an apple a day will really benefit your skin and as well as eating apples you can also use them as a face mask. Just pop an apple in the blender and blend until it becomes a pulp and then apply it to your face. Wash it off 20 minutes later and you should see an immediate improvement in the appearance of your pimples.

Also make sure that you are getting all the required vitamins and minerals in your diet. Lacking in vitamins can contribute to acne. You should also be drinking at least six to eight glasses of water a day to keep your skin moist and hydrated and also to flush out any toxins that can build up in your system and contribute to acne.

Taking care of your health and your skin is the best solution for preventing or treating acne. Using a good, gentle skin care product will also help to reduce acne spots.
